We are currently looking for a Refrigeration Engineer (M/F) to help design, test, and optimise the next generation of temperature and humidity control systems.
- Design refrigeration circuits for environmental chambers: thermodynamic modeling, refrigerant selection, component sizing, and control strategies
- Build and validate prototypes; plan and run lab/field tests (performance, reliability, lifecycle, acoustics)
- Produce design specs, schematics, and BoMs
- Analyze test data to optimize efficiency, stability, noise, and cost; execute DOEs and root-cause analyses
- Support DFM/DFA and cost-reduction initiatives
- Ensure compliance with EN 378, EU F-Gas, CE; UL/CSA as needed
- Collaborate with Sourcing, Manufacturing, Quality, Service, Sales, and key suppliers on co-development and special builds
- Provide advanced technical support to Sales and After-Sales
- Partner with Automation/Controls to implement refrigeration and climate-control algorithms
- Qualify and dual-source critical components; manage engineering changes
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical, Refrigeration, Thermal, or Mechatronics Engineering
- Hands-on experience designing, testing, and troubleshooting refrigeration systems (HVAC/R, heat pumps, process cooling, or environmental chambers)
- Strong knowledge of vapor-compression cycles, heat transfer, psychrometrics; familiarity with A2L/A3/HFO blends and CO2 transcritical is a plus
- Experienced with safe handling and design for flammable/low-GWP refrigerants
- Clear, detail-oriented, collaborative communicator; skilled in documentation and design reviews
- Portuguese required; proficient in English
